Dance Artist Educator Researcher - Company Message
                     Artist Statement

Dancing gives us a chance to try on different ways of moving ourselves and taking up space.  We don’t linger too long in mental abstraction, but approach our ideas on a physical level, bringing the conceptual into immediate, lived experience.  Our work hinges on engaging with moving bodies, our own and others.

With the daily bombardment of mass media, a multitude of screens, and general information overload, I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time working with people, in real time, on creative pursuits that necessitate interaction, communication, non-verbal dialogue, listening, focus, connection, introspection, and touch.  In my view, this type of work puts dancers in a unique position to find meaningful in-roads to other artistic mediums, academic disciplines, and a diverse range of belief systems.
